This is a special note about episode 34, “Fear drives my dysfunction…” A dedicated listener (and dear friend) highlighted an issue with the audio file, leading me to learn that the original recording was a garbled mess, followed by silence.
Fortunately, I was able to re-record and replace the faulty file. Sadly, the original recording is lost in the ether, but the new version should cover some of the key points and even features the same random message. If you had attempted the listen before or are intrigued by the title, I invite you to download/re-download and listen. If you’ve previously downloaded, you may need to delete the original download and refresh it with the new one.

Welcome my fellow humans. I'm experimenting with the new opening, so this is a special little note here. It just published the episode 39 about Labor Day and I haven't even named it yet. Actually, I've just finished recording it and I realized that I forgot to mention that episode 34, that's titled Fear Drives my Dysfunction that I was not aware that the file had become corrupt, and that's actually, I think, probably one of my favorite episodes that I've recorded. But I was not aware that the file itself had become corrupted. And a friend of mine who listens to the podcast reached out and said hey, are you aware that this particular file is completely corrupt? And so I went back in. I checked my original files. It turns out all my original files were corrupted, and the original original one, the original recording, was blank. So I'm not sure exactly what happened there.

So I did re-record it and I was able to swap out the audio file for that episode. So if you previously tried to download that episode Fear Drives my Dysfunction if you previously tried to download it and got this garbledy thing that only lasted a minute or so and then was blank after that, it was like 29 minutes of blank. I went back in and I tried it and what you have to do is remove the download from your device, basically delete it and then re-download it, and you should have the new re-recorded version. I don't know how close it is to the original, because I don't script these things, but I think I hit on several of the same points that I mentioned and I did pull out the same random message for that one as well. So, like I said, if you tried to listen to that episode or you missed it Fear Drives my Dysfunction Episode 34, and wanted to give it another shot and thought, oh, I really wanted to hear what that was about. That sounded like an interesting title. Go back in.

Like I said, if you haven't downloaded it yet at all, you shouldn't have an issue, but if you previously have downloaded it onto your device, it's going to keep trying to play the messed up version. You have to remove the download and re-download it and then it should give a clean copy and I do talk a little bit about this as a repeat from that. Like, I do explain what happened and the fact that this was a re-recording. So, anyway, I just forgot to mention I was going to mention that in Episode 39 and I had forgotten to mention it, so I just decided to do a separate clip. Alright, thanks, keep coming back.
